Evaluation of stenosis and hematocrit for platelet activation and plaque injury in atherosclerosis blood vessels

Atherosclerosis of lower extremity is often accompanied by thrombosis and plaque injury. Currently, there a lack comprehensive hemodynamics study that combines platelet activation related to injury in atherosclerosis. Thus, we first analyze the mechanism further investigate effects stenosis hematocrit through hemodynamic results. An Euler–Euler method used for mixed fluid containing red blood cells (RBCs) coupled with Lagrangian approach transport plasma particles. To more realistically implement this mathematical model, employ user-defined functions incorporate level (LOA), vessel specific Windkessel RBCs form factor, factor into simulation calculation framework. Our results suggest narrow larynx, high wall shear stress activates platelets. Subsequently, platelets accumulate downstream due reflux caused or hyperviscous stasis on account increased hematocrit.
